Thomas Bell Caskey, 51, passed away on Thursday, December 28, 2023. Born in Columbia, he was the son of John Caskey and the late Louise Lane Caskey. Tom was a valued financial advisor at TCG & Associates. He graduated from Heathwood Hall Episcopal School and the University of South Carolina. Tom will be deeply missed as a cherished member of our team.

Mike began his career in the financial industry in 1993 starting with Merrill Lynch and now proudly with UBS. He has dedicated himself for over 30 years to understanding the priorities of both highly affluent families and Institutional relationships.
Mike is a Managing Director and Portfolio Manager. His area of expertise includes both High Net Worth Family legacy planning needs and Institutional non-profit and corporate financial needs. Utilizing his Private Wealth designation, he works with clients to identify their goals and needs, including; asset allocation, education funding, retirement income planning, tax-minimization strategies and estate-planning services. He then commits himself to crafting a financial strategy designed to help clients pursue desired outcomes, while building, managing and preserving their wealth for current and future generations. With his Institutional Consulting designation, he specializes in developing plans for Endowments and Corporations. With in depth experience in non-profit financial management Mike helps endowments through the entire process of developing an IPS to investments and ongoing board education. His expertise can be summed up with getting to know and understand the needs of clients and assisting to build a plan to achieve the goals desired outcomes.
Mike holds both his Certified Private Wealth Advisor® and Certified Investment Management Analyst® awarded by the Investments & Wealth Institute™. He also holds the Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor® designation, awarded by The College for Financial Planning Institutes Corp. He holds the Series 7, 9, 10, 31, 63 and 65 FINRA registrations. He is a graduate of the University of South Carolina; he and his family are very active in community services, local and national charities.
Ladd Lumpkin is a seasoned financial advisor at UBS, specializing in assisting families and business owners in reaching their financial objectives. With a keen eye for detail and a passion for helping others succeed, Ladd excels in crafting personalized strategies tailored to his clients' unique needs and is commitment to delivering exceptional service.
Ladd holds Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA®) and Certified Investment Management Analyst® (CIMA®) designations. He earned his bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of South Carolina and an MBA from the University of South Carolina. He is active in his church and enjoys working out with friends. He and his wife, Laurie, live in Northeast Columbia and have two children, Reese and Caroline.
Shufy began his financial services career in 1980 spending five years in banking before moving to the Wealth Management industry in 1986. He has more than 38 years of experience providing clients with financial and wealth management services. His primary areas of focus are wealth management, retirement strategies, portfolio strategies and assistance in securities selection. He works with individuals, families, small businesses and foundations, assisting them in the pursuit of long-term financial and life goals. He works primarily with high-net-worth individuals and couples who are new to the wealth management process.
Shufy is a past member of The Columbia Sertoma, The Downtown Sertoma, and Capital Rotary civic clubs. He previously served on the Baptist Hospital Cancer Board, The United Way of the Midlands Tocqueville Planned Giving Committee, and is currently serving as a board member for 721 Ministries.
Formerly an avid runner, Shufy completed six marathons including Chicago, New York and Boston. He now enjoys shorter runs, golf with family and friends and traveling. He and his wife Kay have two grown sons, Nick and Marshall, daughter in law Brigid and grandson Ford. Kay and Shufy split their time between Columbia and Charleston, SC.
Brent began his career 2001 and has earned the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™, CFP® certification, awarded by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc. His primary role is assisting clients in defining their financial priorities and offering strategies to help them pursue their goals. He also focuses on liability management and corporate retirement plan solutions.
Brent earned his bachelor’s degree in management and marketing from the University of South Carolina, where he was captain of the men’s golf team. Brent and his wife, Betsy, have two kids, Price and Kate.
A Citadel Alumni educated in Political Science, William Velasco started his career within Wealth Management in 2014. He began working with Merrill Lynch in the large corporate equity and retirement plan field with Fortune 500 companies in Atlanta, Georgia before relocating and continuing to build his career in his hometown Columbia, South Carolina. William went on to earn his Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor®℠, CRPC®, and Certified Exit Planning Advisor® CEPA® designations.

A native of Knoxville, Tennessee, John F. McCabe has lived in Columbia, South Carolina for nearly 40 years and is a Wealth Management Advisor and Senior Vice President as a founding member of TCG & Associates of UBS Financial Services. When not managing portfolios and helping clients achieve life goals, John spends his time serving on many and various historical and civic organizations, as well as spending time with his wife, Mandy Waites McCabe and their three sons, John Jr, Mitchell, and Charles.
John has served as President of the AC Flora High School Athletic Booster Club, on The Sigma Alpha Epsilon Alumni Commission, and Chair of the Francis Marion Memorial Project in Washington, D.C, is the South Carolina Representative of The River Alliance Board of Directors, and is a former Deacon at Eastminster Presbyterian Church.
He is past chairman of the board of the South Carolina State Museum Foundation, past president of the Palmetto Baseball League, the past president of the Colonel Thomas Taylor Chapter of the South Carolina Society of the Sons of the American Revolution, is Secretary of The Board of Governors of The Palmetto Club, the Chair of The South Carolina State Museum Commission, on the Board of the South Carolina Governor’s Mansion Foundation, Chair of The Partisan Society of The Congaree, the Saint Andrew’s Society of Columbia, and The South Carolina Historical Society Board of Managers.

Harris Joined the TCG and Associates team in August of 2022 with one year of experience in the financial industry with Vanguard. Harris is a graduate of the Darla Moore School of business where he majored in Finance and data analytics. Harris looks forward to serving the clients of our team with a proactive attitude, great communication skills, and attention to detail. He earned both a bachelor's degree and a master's degree in Criminology & Criminal Justice from the University of South Carolina, graduating with honors from the South Carolina Honors College. An avid sports fan, he loves to support all Gamecock athletics programs, and can usually be found reading a good book or enjoying the local coffee shop scene in his free time. He and his wife, Calli, live in Lexington with their dog, Lilo.

Amy joined the TCG & Associates team in 2020. She has a bachelor’s degree in finance, a master’s degree in education, and holds the Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor® (CRPC®) designation. As a Senior Wealth Strategy Associate, Amy handles every aspect of the client experience from planning to implementation.
